Horners Aftermath – Plum & Moruga Scorpion Chilli Jam

If you’re new to chilli jam, then please note it’s not a direct replacement for strawberry jam on your morning slice of toast! It’s more for cooking with or eating in smaller quantities. Although it only has 0.5% of the worlds second hottest chilli, it starts off full of flavour and after a few seconds a beautiful warm heat emanates all over your palate. Being plum based this tends to work well with cheeses, duck and some Asian foods.

We have so many great uses of this chilli jam which you can view on our recipes section, or simply click here to see a list of what we recommend you give it a go in, there’s sure to be something that takes your fancy. Our favourite use of horners aftermath chilli jam is too smear it all over a duck and roast it in a hot oven for a couple of hours uncovered, this impairs a beautiful flavour and aroma whilst giving the duck some spice, it’s almost hassle free Chinese style roast duck.

Should you come up with any usage ideas, that we’ve not thought we’d love to know what they are. Heck we might even feature it on the website! If nothing else we’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions by the way of a review. Using this to guage whether you’d like our products milder or spicier.

Prices Spices Horners Aftermath Chilli Jam is quite literally sugar, spice and all things nice…

Works wonders with Cheese and Wine, Chinese Roast Duck, Dip For Spring Rolls, many more uses than you can shake a stick at. Take a look at the recipe gallery below for more ideas…

Absolutely beautiful tasting jam with the perfect chilli kick to it. I love marinating my crispy tofu in this to make a Chinese fake-away. I only wish you made a bigger jar

Very good chilli jam. The sweetness of the plums gives way to a suble climing burn that I would say is just right for a jam. Not too mild and not too hot for the kind of things you would pair it with i.e. cheeses or even deserts. Very good product that is worth having in the cupboard for those occasions that you want sweet but still some spice.

Brought this at the Christmas market in Leamington, the guy who sold it to me was lovely and helpful! The chilli jam is amazing and super spicy, which I love! Will be buying more!!! Fruity with a punch!

  4. Kayleigh Brooks

This chilli jam was so nice! Right kind of kick and went so well with smoked cheeses.

Perfect on buttered toast and the best addition to scrambled eggs. Definitely a unique taste not found in the US.

This plum jam comes with a warning of four out of five chillies on the side thanks to the inclusion of the sinister sounding Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Chilli – the world’s second hottest chilli (the Carolina Reaper being the first). Despite this jam only using 0.7% of this scorchingly hot chilli, it still packs one hell of punch after your taste buds are fooled by the initial sugary tart sweetness of the plums, and gives you a nice slow burn afterwards. I’ve been eating a little of this (you really don’t need a lot!) with cheese sandwiches and I love the sweet and savoury combination.

I purchased this at the Dorset chilli festival and although I’ve never had chilli jam before, I instantly fell in love with this. I have it on pretty much everything however the obvious favourite use with this jam will always be crackers and cheese!

Love this chilli jam – great flavour and nice heat. Fantastic with just about anything, but love it with cheese, ham, sausages, burgers and my personal favourite just great with a scotch egg.
